The only common identity on all major fast-food brands is on its logo which is red in colour. Why do major food brands use this red colour on their logo? The uncomplicated answer is, red colour is the most vibrant primary colour in the spectrum. Some brand experts suggest red colour on logo act as a welcoming sign and induce a seduction on human minds and stimulate the appetite. While checking other examples we often find that red colour is using on all warning signs or danger symbols like a traffic signal.


In short, it is easy to conclude that the red sign/symbol has a triggering action on the brain. The restaurant giants use this sudden reaction to attract consumers. On a busy road, the huge logo which is red in colour will gain more eye responses than any other colour. The fast-food market is highly competitive with multiple major players acquiring customer attraction is very essential for each player in the market. Even though the red colour is the most appealing logo colour for fast food brands McDonald's has introduced a dark green logo on its selected outlets. The distinctive move of McDonald's is explained as establishing a competition towards Starbucks products.
